Hello everyone, I have run out of ideas/ solutions. Recently upgraded computer from P4, 2.4 gig, ECS mb, 1gb Corsair ram, older CH force joystick. Had no problems with FS9 or FS2002 Pro. Now with new setup I get about 20 min flight time with either sim and the M/S sim must close window pops up. I Sent it twice and got the reply that I might install the upgrade. I did this several months ago. I have tried dis-able anti virus, and force feedback, moved audio acceleration back a few notches no change. New specs.. P4, 3.2gig HT, 800 fsb, Abit VT7 m/b, 1gb ram, 80gb hd, Saitek Cyborg EVO Force, XP home, FX5600xt 256meg agp graphic. I have tried three different drivers from latest to earlier that worked in old system. apprec. any suggestions Doug

do you have service pack 2 for xp installed?
If so, did things start going wrong after you installed it?

I should have mentioned that is was installed with the XP disk on the old computer, no problems at that time. One other thing I should mention in case it is important. I did not install FS2002 and FS9 on the new hd I just copied them from the old hd after I installed XP. Doug

"Timed failures" typically point to a badly seated card, memorey leakage, or most likely....... a cooling issue. FS2004 really heats up things....... particularly the video card.
Make sure that your case coolings fans, your CPU cooling fan, and your video card fans are ALL working to optimum.
best,
.................john

The fact that you have copied it across could mean that some of the system files are missing. Have you tried reinstalling it? Try it and let me know if it makes a difference.

Thank you for your responses, much appreciated! My problem might be solved. When the FS9.1 update was released I was running 98SE. I saw several warnings that no cd patch might not work anymore. I could see the new bridges etc and no cd worked fine. I was fooled a bit that my 2002 failed like FS9. This morning I flew 2002 for two hours no prob. Tried FS9, quit about 10 min. This now seemed to point to FS9 not comp
joystick etc. I then remembered someone in forum reminding folks to use no cd FS9.1 exe if update installed. did a search, installed, flew FS9 for an hour no prob. Need to fly more but looks promising. Xp might be more sensitive in this regard than Win 98 was? ... The learning never ends! Doug
