hi andrew,
yeah it sure is possible. best (or easiest) way to do it, is using a liitle program called fraps (u can get it here). it's free but if u wanna do some proper recording, u might wanna purchase the full version as u are limited to 30 seconds recording in the free version ::).
oh yeah, u will also need some sort of video editing program since the file size will be huge of the original frap recording (the free windows movie maker will do the job).

have fun! :)

If you're using shots over 30 seconds in duration, your video is not going to have a very exciting pace to it.  The longest your shot should be (in ANY video) is 10 to 15 seconds. ;)
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

weird. i've done shots over 5 min in duration and it works just fine. i can't be bothered to put the scenes together ;D
but it sure is a nice surprise when you forget to stop recording and find a 20gb recording file on your harddrive ;D

It has nothing to do with whether or not it will work...it has to do with keeping your audience focused on the film.  A single shot that lasts more than 10 or 15 seconds (and even THAT is a little on the long side) is going to lose it's effectiveness with the viewer.
Great edit, Bob.

;D ah that's what you meant. yeah you might be right but when i do edits for myself, i prefer long scenes from the same angle (like an approach or takeoff from wingviews). maybe i'm just boring
