Aircraft trim problems

I have a bad drift problem that I can not trim out. I tried trimming from my yoke and the number pad to no avail.

I tried using auto heading to get the plane straight and level and then disengaged the autopilot but I still have a bad drift.

The problem seems to be with all of my airplanes.

This is a new load after a HDD change. Am thinking about uninstalling and reinstalling the program before I get all of my goodies loaded in.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi richardd43. I am going to assume, rut roh, that when you say drift you mean drifting to the left or right.

I have this problem occasionally and turns out it is my stick. I use a MS Sidewinder Pro, USB connection. Where the problem lies is in the connection itself. Since XP like Plug N Play to stay on, it is simple for me to correct. When my acft. get to drifting one way or the other, on the ground or in the air, I simply unplug my stick from the back of the machine, wait just a few secs., plug it back in, XP recognizes it and presto bingo I am back with a "Neutral" stick. I have tried cleaning the USB connection but to no avail. Guess my stick is so old it is like me, just getting worn out !  ;)

Sometimes, recallibrating the stick does the trick. But I have found that just unplugging it and plugging back in does the trick and is actually faster. Give it a quick try and see if this is your problem. If not, then something more serious is afoot!
