Hey all,
I'd like to make some videos of my flights. Does anyone know a way to convert the .fsn file that FS9 saves them as into a more standard video format (avi or mpg)?
Or do I have to use a seperate video capture program?
Thanks
Dak

You've got to use a standalone video capture program. Or if you've got a digital camcorder and a compatible video card...then you're good to go.
Google a program called "Fraps"...it's a great vid cap program.

If you are running XP with service pak2 installed, click start/programs/accessories/movie maker. This is a real nice editing program that comes with XP. It will allow you to import your files and save anyway you like!

Hi there
The fsn file isn't a video file at all. It's just a data file that acts a bit like a 'black box' for your aircraft. You can see that because when you replay the 'video' you can page round the views (cockpit, tower etc) and you can't see any of the AI that was around at the time you 'recorded' the clip.
So it's pretty useless really.

Aye Roger ;)
You need to get a video capture software. Like Hype said, google Fraps and you will find a real nice one. As a matter of fact, here is a video made from Fraps, not the editing, that is with Sony Vegas Video!

Thanks everyone,
I'll hopefully be posting an address for a couple videos after this weekend.
