Problem with gates?

Postby MafiaTiger » Thu Feb 10, 2005 9:00 pm

Most pics i see of FS2004 at airports i see the gates that come out and connect to the planes but i go to a lot of major airports like KSEA, KSFO, KSJC, and KOAK and i dont see even 1 gate that connects to the plane.  ??? Not a problem its just that i was wondering if all the FS2004's are like that or is mine messed up, Thanks.

You have to have the detail settings in the Settings setup screens set to a pretty high level to see them, I think.

best,

Are you refering to that you can't see the gates, ro that they don't line up?

If you can't see them, than yes, turn the detail level up. If you're saying they don't line up, that is unfortunately a msfs reality :(

Ya the problem is if you crank your scenery detail up that much, you're flying into a major city, and if you have the detail low, your PC probably doesn't need to try and deal with a major city in as critical a phase of flight as landing. So if you don't mind the realism being cheated out, you can wait until you land to turn up the scenery complexity so the gates appear, park, fuel up, plan your flight, leave the gate, then turn them back off for more performance, though frankly it won't affect it much.

Hi MT....to get interactive gates that line up as you park, you will have to look at Payware I'm afraid..Just Flights. British Airports is one such program which has these things at major airports plus support vehicles which service your aircraft and other fun stuff..nothing in FS9 though..commoner ;)
