Hi Everyone at SimV,

I've had this problem for quite a while now. Whenever I seem to do a pushback (Shift + P) I cannot turn left or right during the pushback. Anyone offer any reason or fixes?

Shift+P and hit one or two real quick?  Always worked for me... but i did notice that there were a few planes that it didnt work with.

the pushback works like this:

SHIFT + P - go back straight

SHIFT + P + 1 - go back and turn right

SHIFT + P + 2 - go Back and turn left

also, on the Bombardier CRJ-900, there is a pushback menu, works instead of shift-p

also also, some aircraft have enough reverse thrust to pushback on thier own. only on small acft and turboprops.

Also you won't notice the turn right away. I think the airplane has to move back at one plane length before starting the turn.

I have found that the timing of adding the number keys after the Shift+P is pretty sensitive.  Too soon and it doesn't work... and too late and it doesn't either.

Hehe for realism sake, don't use reverse to pushback.  Most manufacturers don't like that  ;)

So if i want to go back a bit and then turn left or right how long when do i press the 1 or 2 button. Is it immedatily after the Shift+P or is it when i want to turn left.

I find that I push the Shift + P together and then about 1 second after that the 1 or 2 key.  If it is about 2 seconds it doesn't seem to work... and if it is maybe 1/4 second it doesn't seem to work.

What I have found is this:

Shift+p to start pushback, then as long as you do not make any other inputs (key or joy, including pan) you can press the keyboard 1 or 2 key at any time to turn. The 90* turn will begin after 1 plane length.

Further, as long as you do not interrupt the key sequence (with other input) you can execute multiple turns, in either direction, and even cut a turn short of 90* by using the 1 and 2 keys. (The plane will straighten for 1 plane length the begin the new turn que).

Works for me.

After trying countless times with the 737 Experience i failed to get it to turn. does it have anything to do withany certain gauges/modules/aircraft/window mode?

Just to clarify, you're hitting-

shift+p LET GO and then quicly hit 1 or 2. It should be working. And Dave, your sim must really like you! I've never heard of anyone's doing that! What did I do wrong to mine...

Well I had to throw the technical data in here.

Common procedures in the smaller jet airliners, for my airline anyways, allow pilots to use reverse thrust in icy conditions to help the tug. I've seen tugs slide all around a nose gear trying to push back airplanes, while other times, they will get great grip and go right ahead. Notice I did say smaller jet airliners, something about a triple-7 in full reverse trying to get out of the gate does just make me smile though.
