For adding a repaint to the aircraft.cfg all you need is Notepad. Just double click on the file and Windows will pop up a dialog asking if you want to find a program on the internet or choose one from a list. Select "Choose from list and Windows will give you a list of programs installed on your computer. Choose Notepad and it'll load the .cfg into Notepad.

Also make sure to check "always use this program to open this kind of file", so you don't have to reselect notepad every time.

Hi 326mp. As you're new to all this you could do worse than visit my Lair from the link in my sig. My Windows Basics & Add a Repaint articles might interest you to start with. The latter was originally written for FS2002 but the basic procedure is the same for FS9.
PS. Also check out the Help & Tutorials section from the SimV main page.

Good idea there but remember that if you do choose to associate .cfg files with Notepad, any other program that saves info in a file using the extension .cfg will call up Notepad when you click on that file even if it isn't viewable in Notepad. You'll end up with a Notepad filled with a bunch of goobly gook or Notepad will just lock up.

Ahh, the wonders of "right click... open with" ;D
