I recently uninstalled 2004 due to the disappearance of all panels and gauges.  After 3 re-installs and uninstalls with no add-ons I STILL have a simple black screen in place of them.   The VC seems to have them but not the first screen/view.  Help, please

That is a Geforce driver issue.

I have had the same problem try putting the mouse over the window and clicking the right button and closing window.
