Im gonna start spittin out some stuff, and tell me if I can or can't do it  ;)

I have a really good plane model, with really good sound.  The flight dynamics suck though, can I trade the ones from the 737-800 to this one? And... it has no V.C, so can I trade off? But I assume that it is built into the model, so I'm gonna gander no. So... thats it  ;D

Sure you can trade up..:-)

I've thought about doing this many times with profs at school..

That one sucks, I'm gonna trade up! :-)

Can:
swop the flight dynamics by either swopping the .air file with another airplane and renaming it, or downloading an .air editor and edit the flight dynamics yourself.

Can't:
trade off the vc because it is built into the 3d model itself.

Hope that helps

I've done this myself for a couple models. It works but you will have to tweak it some. Whenever you change .cfg or .air files you are basically flying the plane you take the files from so be sure to pick an airplane with as similar systems and features to the original as possible. Even if your source airplane is almost exact there will still be some differences. In that  case you need to make some modificaitons.

Actually I'd try modifying the original .air and .cfg files first. There's a section in the .cfg file which is easily edited in Notepad called "Flight Tuning" it gives many variables you can tweak and some aircraft only need this changed. I can't go into all the variables but if you posted what you don't like maybe I could suggest something that might help. I'm not an expert on this and if I can't help you may get some assistance in the Aircraft Development forum here at SimV.

Mostly what I end up changing is the elevator trim effectiveness, cruise lift and induced drag. Those can often make a horrible airplane fly much better. In more severe cases you may need to adjust more.

If that doesn't cure the problem then you may need to swap .cfg and .air files. You will need an editor for the .air files but the .cfg can be edited in Notepad. Usually what you end up modifying are the contact points (so the airplane won't be taxiing off the ground or sunk into it) and lights (putting them back into the proper position. Often you can just copy these sections from the original file into the new .cfg.

ty ty, and the main section i am having problems with is the trim. If it's just a smidge bit too far up, it'll spaz out.
