Does anyone know how to get the Berlin Wall in FS2004? it worked in 2000, but it wont in 2004. Or is there any place i can download some Berlin scenery that has it?
Thanks!

Try turning the time back to a date before february, 1989. That should do it. (I think)

Also try turning your visual settings up, like autogen and visual detail to the second to highest level (b/c gates at airports don't show up until second to highest, so maybe same with wall)

I just tried that to see if I could get it to show up, and even set the flying time for a date in the year 1988. Still no luck.

Hmmmm... without being political, does that include pics of all the people who were shot trying to get over it?
Sorry, but I find this totally offensive - and I bet their families would too.

I see nothing offensive in being obsesive with historical fact.
I have a obsession to WWII in general, all aspects of the war. And I have many articles, books, photos etc that depict the loss of lives.
I have books that tell the stories of the Concentration camps and of the death and destruction that goes along with it.
The treatment against Jewish people etc.
Am I wrong for my enthusiasim for knowledge? Am I wrong for having photos, models of aircraft that were used for killing hanging in my room?
If so
Sorry for offending you ::)

First of all: by setting the date to before 1989 wont make any difference...or does the WTC reappear when flying before 9/11??
Second thing: there is a BIG difference between being interested in history and to have your room "cluttered by memoriblia".
@FretnSmurf - this would be the same thing if you would hang a nazi banner with the swastika on it into your room, and I dont think u do that.
Communist eastern germany was a dictature which oppressed and killed innocent people...and should in NO way be glorified. and personally, Im really happy NOT to see it when flying in Berlin. many people have fought and gave their lives to have exactly this scenario. therefore, I hope theres no add-on to replace this.
by the way, would u like to replace other things too, like the camp of auschwitz for example? think about it.
This is a flight simulator and not a time machine for people who regret the victory of a free world.

Please everyone, this is clearly an emotive subject and we've now had views expressing both sides of the argument.
In the spirit of these forums NOT being political can I please request that we leave this topic alone now and no further postings are made.
It would be a terrible thing if we had to have threads locked at this special time of the year because of conflicts between the views being expressed.

No not really, I am interested in the DDR, so therefore, i collect remanents of it. I agree with FretnSmurf, having items related to your interest and being interested in something go hand in hand together.
@FretnSmurf - this would be the same thing if you would hang a nazi banner with the swastika on it into your room, and I dont think u do that.
As far as the items i have, I have some military unfiroms and equipment but thats about it. So basicly saying im offensive for having DDR memoribilia is saying someone who collects German WW2 memoribilia is a nazi. And an even better example: I'm sure many returning veterens from the Iraq War have borught souviniers with them. So what, are you going to say they are supporters of Saddam Hussein just because they have a few collectable items? I merely collect DDR items. Do I agree with everything the DDR did? No, I do not.
Communist eastern germany was a dictature which oppressed and killed innocent people...and should in NO way be glorified. and personally, Im really happy NOT to see it when flying in Berlin.
If you understood Communism, you would see that Communism and Dictatorship are complete opposites of each other. East Germany was Socialist, not Communist.
And i am in no way gloryfing the DDR.
many people have fought and gave their lives to have exactly this scenario. therefore, I hope theres no add-on to replace this.
The wall fell on accidnet due to an error made by one of its leaders, who mistated information at a press conference. And the only reason people died was because of the containment policy and the USA's agressive stance.
by the way, would u like to replace other things too, like the camp of auschwitz for example? think about it.
There is a big difference between Aushwitz and the Belrin Wall.
This is a flight simulator and not a time machine for people who regret the victory of a free world.
the USA imposings its ideas throught the corners of the globe is hardly a free world. And it is exactly that, a flgiht simulator, and it was a very historic landmark during the time it was standing. SO are you saying that if they wall was still up it should not be included in a FS?
Hmmmm... without being political, does that include pics of all the people who were shot trying to get over it?
No but I have a book with some pics
Sorry, but I find this totally offensive - and I bet their families would too.
I am in no way trying to be offenseive. the Berlin Wall is a piece of history.

Sorry Rollerball, but this has to be.
Alright then, I think a further comment over your political understanding has become needless. This is quite unbelievable.
I guess you buy a ticket to north corea, you will surely be more happy there.
