strange weather!

as any of you been flying in the western canada lately?

I have had some wind going from 50nm up to 135 (I saw that by looking at fsnav not shift Z witch limit to 99) wind turning many time in the same flight. at moment it would almost cause my Airbus to stall at 32000f. (went down to 140nm with flap on at that altitude)

And dont you dare forget you Pitot before taxing, few 100 feet after take of it freeze and you get ZERO airspeed

I got the same thing over Halifax also last week. It really taxes on fuel usage. I need to monitor wind very close since it had cause some overspeed in seconde...

Anyone had some strange occurence on real weather or is it normal to get some wind that strong

ok, not sure about the wind question, but you want to leave your pitot heat off until you have departed, as the excess heat may burn up the pitot tube components..

excessive heat is not a problem around here. before take off it is already at -20c after take off it goes down to -58c :)

50 nm??? Huh?  Anyway, I've been in stronger  :)  150 kts tlwndb at 330 from Little Rock to Philadelphia the other day, the autothrottle goes nuts because it thinks you've lost a bunch of speed when in fact the ram air pressure has just gone down.  But real world weather CAN get real messed up... like that time it accidentaly added another 9 to 29.98 making it 299.98... INCREDIBLE pressure, so I lost all instrument reliability 10,000 ft out of La Guardia after I recognized the unusual attitude and did an instrument scan.  Not the best airpsace to be blind in.

If I understand correcly your are talking about airpressure for your altimeter? what was the first thing you've notice did you seems to climb or decend?

What I wanted to point out 50 to 135 is a very large difference. In almost no time it was going up that much and after 15 min of strong wind it went down but much slower than how it went up.

Ok, I'm assuming you meant 50 KTS, not nm.  Yes, the airpressure for the altimeter known as barometric pressure.  Pilots must be trianed to recognize what is called an "unusual attitude", lemme give you textbook def-"one of the most common immediate results of any instrument failure or in-flight emergency is the aircrafts entry into an unusual attitude.  An unusual attitude is any attitude not normally required for instrument flight and is generally unintentioned and unexpected."

The best away to realize a UA is experience, and I noticed that -1800 FPM didn't correlate to 10 degrees nose down at 210 kts, like my airplane was doing.  This was all hard to detect because nothing actually failed, just malfunctioned.  I disengaged all AP systems and began to hand-fly her, the first time ever above 2,000 ft.  Once I exited that particular weather stations area of influence, everything went back to normal.  Gotta keep your eyes peeled, guys, just because you don't set failures it doesn't mean they're not gonna happen :).  It's interesting because if you don't set failures and fly with real world weather your chances of encountering a problem are about the same of a real-world pilot!  :o

Think your weather is strange I took off in an f-16 yesterday from Dallas, and as I was over central Oklahoma at 40,00ft

the wind was so strong it flipped the plane over and carried me up to 80,000ft and my airspeed was at 2000KIAS

that was really strange it caught me off guard

Hmm.. I can't imagine why it did that!  Stay alert fool!  ::) ;D
