Does anyone know where the .config file that controls the density of the AI traffic is and if so how can i make it so it is even more dense then the top density level ?

..Hi Shazzam....why don't you just get more airlines from Project AI and they'll all be doing there "thing" under ATC control....bet you'd soon want to get rid of some when you get to wait for two hours to cross a runway at Heathrow ..commoner ;D ;D

Yeah, not only can you get rid of the cheesey AI airlines and replace them with real ones, you get something like real traffic density too.  PAI is definitely the way to go.  Even better, it's free!

also have you gone into the traffic list in FS and told it to use full AI traffic percentage?

In flight go to:

Options, Settings, traffic and move the slider all the way to the right... ;-)

or you could shortcut it..

ALT, O, E, T... ;-)

Also I would recommend going to project ai to anyone! It's wonderful! I have to wait in line even at a small GA airport just to go fly a piper cub..:-) I'm loving it! :-)

Shaazam,

First of all.... welcome to SimV!

As you increase AI traffic... be aware that it is one of the top things after the 3_D clouds that kills framerates.

Oh yeah, sorry to be so rude.  Welcome to SimV!  You'll find most of us here are a helpful lot, if a bit insane at times...  :)

Morning guys
I was reading the question about increasing the amount of AI traffic. I do not wish to increase the amount of traffic but I would like to have some of the real airline names onboard..
???Where is Project AI??

Hi Rectifier   Project AI can be found here...  http://www.projectai.com/index.php  ....look on the left side for Official Files and from that page you can download the Installer package. get that ( I keep mine in the FS9 root folder)..then get some AIRLINES from the same page...I made a folder called Airlines to put all the downloads in (I'm tidy that way ;)).....to install them open the Installer and browse to one of the Airline files you have downloaded and click open then just follow the installer instructions..a very simple process and great stuff. Just don't get too carried away for the reasons set out by JBaymore..good luck..commoner ;)

;) :D ;D :)

HI THERE!

I'm using My Traffic 2004 v2 and a local AI traffic made by a brazilian guy - is called AI Mello - it's all Brazil heavy and GA FP and it's very good (uses Project AI aircrafts) and I can't go any further than 30% or I'll have some 30 to 50 aircrafts waiting for TO or landing  ::) :-[ :D so - if U get PAI U'll have some much more fun!!! Just take a try!

cya.

Thanks guys
I have just downloaded and installed all of the top US carriers and a couple of European. It feels good seeing them at the airport terminal or actually taking off and landing. Adds more realism to the simulator.
Is it possible to get rid of these Made up names that FS9 uses and just use the real carrier names??
That should add more realism to the simulator.

Hey Guys
just made a flight  this morning , frm Ft. Leonard Wood mo. to Dallas-Ft Worth with the addons from yesteday and thoroughly enjoyed it.
I did note the waiting time as someone mentioned before , at the hold points. I noticed something there however. When I had been waiting almost 10 minutes, I panned around checking for traffic and there was none so I released the brakes and throttled up a little to see if I would get yelled at  but I only got clearance to T.O.
So I tried it at Heathrow attampting to cross a taxi way for almost 15 minutes, and the same thing happened.
Interesting thing happened at Dallas. After I landed, the tower says to exit the runway at the next exit, which was to the left? I took it and came face to face with a B747! I noticed  that they do not back up. So I pushed back and took the next taxi way to the right  and contacted ground for instructions. I thought maybe someone in the tower had been drinking. :D
Thanks for the info on the name changes. I am heading that way now.

Thanks for the info. I di notice that you said , hopefully it will work for 2004? I just went to the  sight and it did seem as though it only made changes in the Config file?

I wonder if there is anyone out there that has actually tried it with 2004 and what were the results.?

Thanks Commoner
I now have only the real names in FS9 on all AI.
Nice sight to see when I am the simulation.

Now onward..  I am in the process of getting something to fly with real names. Of all things to pick on , I got the venerable L1011. Only problem is it uses the panel from the 737-400. Auto throttles are a problem . SO I am checking for more.
I am having a ball .
