Don't stall a Jumbo.

This is a little vague can you restate what your problem is.
When does this happen?
what is your air speed at the time you start falling?
Are you in a climb or descent when this takes place?
Does this happen while flying in straight and level?
A little more info please.

Let me see...
I was straight and level all of a sudden the vertical speed indicator eradically climbed to peak but the aircraft was not in a decline position that is what i don't understand sounds like a confliction....also do you know where i might be able to find a pre flight checklist for the 727????? thans in advance

If you haven't disabled the warnings at the bottom of the screen watch to see if the "Stall" warning is showing before the plane drops. You should also let us know if the plane noses up or down just prior to the problem. If it noses up then something may be wrong with the autopilot, if down then you are likely running out of airspeed and stalling.

Also try letting the airplane drop a little to build up airspeed and then pull back on the stick. If it flies again then most likely it's stalling.

Hi,
Thanks Matt appreciate your help...good ideas...will check it out...seems like it only happens when flying IFR with jets...i just finished an IFR from Orlando to Ft Lauderdale and the plane violently jerked up and down but finally got it stabilized as i requested a higher altitude from ATC seemed to work.

If it jerks up first then it's likely something with the AP. Never heard of that before though. Usually it's stalling that's the problem. Stall speed depends on weight with the big jets so you have to figure on a higher climb speed if you are heavily loaded.

Is this the default jets or an add on that you downloaded? I had trouble with the Falcon biz jet in FS 2002 porposing but when I ported it over to FS 2004 it worked perfectly (several aircraft that have been modified for FS 2004 have mentioned tweaks to the .air files so I think I just got lucky on the Falcon). Maybe someone with a little more knowledge about the .air or .cfg files can help out here but it sounds like it's something with the AP setup or the flight characteristics. Default jets however should work OK.

Hi, I've had similar prblms in the past (just once or twice...) and one time it was due to some force feedback prblm with the joystick ??? and other time I was overspeeding and the autopilot started to go crazy...anyways it's a strange help so I don't know if that's of any help ;)

Hi all, I had a similar problem too, also with a 747, I think it was a POSKY 747 pack, tho dont quote me as I may be wrong and am too lazy to boot up FS( and check it out, but the autopilots default climb rate was set to +800fpm and I am used to setting the climb rate to +1800fpm, so everytime i climbed in this jet I would get to about FL200 - FL250 and it would just nose up and drop like a stone! Does anybody know what kind of vertical speeds real life commercial jets use to climb to crusing altitudes? Has anyone ever been in a jet taking off from Tenerife South airport (Reina Sofia)? the initial climb rate from there must be well more than 2500fpm its crazy! but fun  ;). Speaking of bl**dy steep take-offs, anyone been launched from a winch in a glider? - that is amazing, must be like 50*-60*  to the vertical for about half a minute - INCREDIBLE! anyway I have exhausted my collection of superlatives for today so ill be off!

Laterz

Hey
I always have this prob with my game as well. Except i it's the autopilot. It stalls the aircraft all the time in any aircraft and it's bloody anoying. Are there no fixes for this? Or does this happen in real life, because it aint much of an autopilot if it does! lol

cheers

Now if something goes without saying, then why do people say it??
