nVidia 61.76 Probs. Stretched FS9 Panels

Postby compyelc4 » Tue Nov 30, 2004 11:48 pm

This is my first post.

Have win98, nVidia GeForce4 MX 440, stock 900mhz AMD Athlon. Having problems.

Just loaded new drivers (0ld ones are prob. 3 yrs. old!) Framerates increased DRAMATICALLY. Almost makes me want to scrap my upgrade plans for an AMD Athlon64! Only problem is ALL of my non-virtual panels are stretched waaay vertically and no panel switches work. Virtual panels work fine. I've run out of ideas....and I don't have many anyway. The only non-virtual panel that works is the one on the Boeing 717 I use as a default start-up (think it has a default 737 panel). All the other AC panels are crap, including FS9 default. I've tried reloading FS9, rewriting over existing AC files with known good original ones, and goofing with all the new settings that the 61.76 drivers added.  All is no help. I reloaded my old, old nVidia drivers and all works well as usual, except 25% slower! I sure want those 61.67 drivers back. Might going back a few driver generations help? Ideas?

Thanks

I have an InVidia GeForce4 MX420, and from what I have heard they really arent that great, I would like to get another one, not sure what to get though, but anyway mine does the same thing if I set my antialiasing to anything other than Application Controlled, so you might check that setting..just a thought  ;D

I had the exact same problem with those drivers. I have a GForce 4 128 MB. I got the stretched panels and views were stretched. Only fix I found was a system restore. It wasn't an installation issue either because I used a driver cleaner and removed the old drivers completely. I've also seen other forums where people reported the same issue so I imagine there's a problem with these drivers. Thank goodness for XP restore.

With those cards there isn't much point updating the drivers anymore.  In some cases the newer drivers may not even fully support your card!

Roll back to older drivers and your problems will be cured.
