Fuel consomation in  gr by  hp\hours ???

Hi

i have find this data on a french book (its the consomation of a Loraine deitrich  engine at diferent power on a ground  test

i think the  fuel flow was calculate whit a fuel flow gauges instrument that some french plane have in the twenty century.

the scalar of the gauges was  on  gr. by hp\hours

i think gr mean grame ? but i dont know how to calculate this to get the consomation in liter\hour  ???

some body have any idea on how to calculate that ?

Fuel density is about 7lb/US gallon. Just convert lb to grams and US gal ot litres.

1 lb = 0.4536 kg
1 US gal = search internet

if my engine take 230 grame of fuel by hp\hour
and my hp is 470hp

the answer is suposed to be 230*470=108.1 kg\hour

but im not sure if this is correct
i have calculate that for my engine for a 40 hour of consomation but the response was

consumpation gr by hp\hour
IK> OK a jet a/c will have a SFC of about 0.7/h/engine which is the FS default. If the thrust is 10,000 lb then the fuel flow is 7,000/lb/h/engine.

A typical and default piston engine has a SFC of 0.5lb/HP/h/engine in MSFS which is 0.5*0.4536kg/HP/h/engine 0r about 220 grams/HP/hour/engine which is what you quoted. So this is all quite consistent.  

Of course it is the actual HP you are running that determines not the max rated value. So at cruise  a 400HP rated engine is likely to be run at only 150HP so the FF is only 3/8th of that for rated power on the ground. Power also falls off in the thinner atmosphere at high altitude.
