*MY SOUND*
ok here is my problem i dont have no sound i can hear
everything else but i dont have engine sound at all
i am using the boeing 757-200 but no sound what so
ever there is nothing wrong with my sound card i can
hear everything else but no engine sound even the out
side i cant hear no sound i can hear flap ect i can hear
everything but no engine sound sorry if i SOUND like a
broken record but i really need this sound if anyone can
help me out with this it would be good so if anyone
have any idea or if anyone went though the samething
pls let me know and if you correct this problem i would love to know how to fix this type of issue thanks a billion

Now I think the problem is that you don't have any sound. However, because of the lack of ANY punctuation  I can't figure out under what circumstances you have no sound.

Please try again WITH punctuation.

Also, is this the only aircraft which has this problem?

Hi. This is my first message on the simviation forum, woohoo, might as well use it for a good cause. I had the exact same problem, but for me it happened with all of the default big jets (suddenly too, one time i booted it up and all was well, the next - silence). I spent over a month in contact with microsoft trying to resolve the problem to no avail. In the end I downloaded a replacment sound file, from simviation, installed that for the aircraft I was having trouble with and I am pleased to report that now everything works fine!!!! Sorry if that was all a bit 'rushed' but I am in a lecture at Uni of Birmingham as we speak!  ;D*looks over shoulder*

This can be caused by at least two things that I can think of.
1). Check the sound folder for that airplane make sure it has a sound.cfg file in it and that is is not being alised to a non existing aircraft.
2). If there is a sound cfg file it should show which files it is using for each effect, These files should be in the same sound folder as the the sound cfg file. Make sure it is using the right files.
My guess you will find that this airplane is trying to use sounds from a airplane that you do not have.
If this is the case you can look for a sound file for this plane or use the default B737-400 sounds instead. At least it will be close to what it should sound like.  8)

If nothing else works for you, try this.  Uninstall and Reinstall the Audio CODECS.  These are audio compression utilities that are within the multimedia part of the Operating System (OS).  They are NOT a part of FS2004.

I believe I had the same problem (two years ago) that you tried to describe.  The procedure I used came out of the Microsoft Knowledge Base.  I was using Windows 98SE at the time.  The procedure depends somewhat on the OS that you have.  After I uninstalled and reinstalled the CODECS, all of the jet engine sounds were back to normal.

I suggest that you search the Microsoft Knowledge Base for "Audio CODEC" and see what you get.
