I flew into Bristol in my 737 when the wierdest thing happend, I was not allowed to park because the airport was full and force to wait 20mins before a 737 vacated its space.

sounds like a standard day at good old lulsgate to me

dont want to sit still to long, those people round bristol will have your plane up on blocks and a new set of wheels will be needed during your turn around

That actually happens in real life. The last commercial flight I was on was delayed about 15min until another 737 cleared out at the gate.

We had that problem on a flight back from the US our USair A330 was stuck waiting for 30 minutes because the gate we were given was busy with a 737 belonging to some charter company, only problem was it was delayed for a bunch of drunk football fans(captains exact words)

Yes, it happens in real life, but I've never heard of it happening in ms, at least not with default traffic. It seemed to me like MS always kept a spot open at every single airport as like a protocol (or whatever the hell it'd be called) just in case you decided to land there. Are you using default traffic Brute, or do u have ultimate ai or something?

Returning from two months in Japan this past summer... I got into KBOS from Toronto and we had to wait in the plane for an hour....waiting for a gate to open up. That was after the flight being delayed leaving about 2 hours. All told... about 3 hours late on a 1 hour flight.
When we finally got into a gate... in the gate right next to where we were parking was a CLEARLY very "dark and cold" plane of the same airline that was just sitting there waiting for a departure the next day. Could they temporarily move it to disembark our flight? NO!

But I've never encountered this in fs2004.
best,
..............john

I'm on default traffic, I wouldn't know where to get a traffic generater that uses defaults, the ones I found want you to install 30 planes

And how about this one: Having to hold short on the active waiting 10-15 mimutes for a plane to clear the runway that isn't there? I get that all the time at KSFO.
Back to your question...If you don't have these tools already, they are really handy: Afcad 2, TTools and AI Traffic Mover. This sounds tedious but it may help solve your problem:
*Bring up your airport in afcad and count the parking spots
*Decompile (or compile, I always get confused, but it's self-explanatory)your traffic030528.bgl file using TTools
*Import the flightplans030528.bgl file into AITM
*AITM will allow you to search the AI flightplan for your airport and will even display the Airports AI timetable
*If you find a conflict with the number of parking spots and parked aircraft at the time you want to land, you can either adjust the departure times or even delete a flight that will create an open spot for you. Or you can possibly add a new parking spot and parking connector to the taxiway with afcad.
If you make changes, be sure to save your new files in afcad and AITM, the recompile (or decompile) your traffic030528.bgl files before you reboot FS2004.
Hope this helps
