Problem with FS9 Locking

I access the View>options menu to switch off Gradual Transition in the spot view (in order to use the mouse to control Active Camera).
The minute I go to it, FS9 locks! I have to Ctrl+alt+del out of it!
Any other way to set it to work...any suggestions?
