How to keep ATC screen open!

Just started using the ATC in FS2004.  I noticed after selecting a menu choice like "acknowledging ATC transmission" that the ATC menu window closes and disappears.   I have to click on the ATC icon to pop up that ATC menu window again.  

After selecting another choices like "tuning to a radio channel" it closes again.  I then have to click the icon to open it up again.  That gets tiring.  How to I keep the ATC menu window open constantly!

Oh yes, I brought this FS on a lark and I've become addicted.  My favorite plane is the Airbus A319.

Ordinarily in real life you would not want a transparent box constantly in your face...

Instead of using the mouse all of the time, how about using the ~

to change display characteristics of the ATC communication box enter FS

Click on settings..

click on Air Traffic Control

I believe the normal setting for would be to have the window auto open, though I have mine set so that i have to open it, nothing more frustrating being on final and having the window popping up in front of you... :-)
