OK....Whenever I go on the internet, there are no problems, but when I come to this site, something odd happens. My VPN client always tries to connect when I go to a new location on this site. Then, when I leave, it disappears. Has this happened to any of you?

*This is the latest VPN client from Cisco Systems

Yes happens to me all the time. I'm not sure how it's being done, I just shrug it off as another attempt to help pay for the site using some kind of spy ware. My scan spy program catches it, but still tries to connect VPN for some reason.

Sites like SimV have to run advertising banners to generate income. Almost all advertising banners on all websites try to download tracking and advertising spyware when they display. If you run Spybot as I do and unclick silent mode you will see that typically you will be exposed to MediaFastclick, AvenueA and many others.

I have my own views on this and other forms of covert downloads but I won't air them here. This seems to be a fact of Internet life nowadays that we have to accept if we wish to continue enjoying 'free' sites like SimV.

The way around is to install Spybot with resident shield activated. You will find that you then get hardly any tracking software on your machine at all.
