Well I was doin some searching around and I found
Sebastien is now currently employed with the Microsoft Corporation where he is a graphics developer for the upcoming Microsoft Flight Simulator 2006.
In case your wondering Sebastian is the author of Shaders for Game Programmers and Artists. So this made me happy to get some words telling us there will be a FS2k6. If you want to read the whole article on who Sebastian is etc. you can visit http://www.prweb.com/releases/2004/8/prweb145817.php and read the whole article

I always assumed that they would just keep right on making them. But what worries me is that eventually they will run out of improvements, so, they will focus on graphics, and you will need to spend 1000s of dollars jus to have a machine capable or running it.

So far I can't afford a computer that will even run fs2004 well........ don't think in only a year that I'll be able to afford one that will be needed to run the NEXT version.  Maybe by then I'll get one that will run THIS sim OK.

So unless they are SERIOUSLY targeting keeping the hardware that it takes to run the new one down to a dull roar........ I may "take a pass" on the new version too.  maybe by then I'll have a machine that gets all there is to get out of fs2004.   :P

best,

I thought I wasn't going to get FS9, thinking that FS8 was the end all be all.  Turns out I bought FS9 and gald I did.  Now I think, I will stick with FS9 and skip on FS10 because I have other things that I would rather spend my time and money on.  But I will make the final decision once FS10 is released.... ;D

According to the latest poll, most people upgrade "Because it's there." One may lump "Peer pressure" in with that and you have a clear indication of what will happen when FS10 or whatever it's called is released. I forget how many million copies are sold each version. I know, I always say I'll not change, but always do in the end. Like they say, MS isn't in this business for fun, but in the process of making money, they actually create lots of fun. :o(did I say that?
