Missing panel for TwinOtter

This might be more properly directed to Hagar, but I'll throw it out for anyone to comment. I installed Premair's DHC-6 Tamalik Air. It's the first -6 I've installed for fs9. I followed Premair's install directions, which goes against the accepted process of manual install and unzips directly to fs9. I had tried this with a previous d/l and it worked out. This time I had no panel. The panel.cfg file did alias to other -6 panels (eg;fsfsconv-xxxx) which I have but only in FS2K2. I fixed it by d/loading another premair -6 (the Win-air full version) and copying the panel files. That worked ( except for the wrong reg. # on the panel) but I can't help but think I'm missing something here. Comments?

In the planes directory is there a folder called Panel, and within that another folder called Panel? If so drag the contents into the first folder.
This has happened a couple of times on these self-installers ::)

Barry Blaisdell's team over at Premaicraft have given us some of the finest free planes in cyberspace. I must have at least a dozen of 'em but can't remember everything about all my planes.

As I recall the Premair DHC-6 series come's with one default plane panel and all others access this panel by aliasing=

From Permair's site:

"
THE ABOVE FS2002 D6SKYBUS PACKAGE  AND THE FS2004 VERSION BELOW ARE THE BASIC
BUILDING BLOCKS FOR THE PANEL / SOUND SETUPS ON ALL THE CURRENT AND FUTURE
GLOBE TWOTTER AIRCRAFT & PANEL PACKAGES. THE NEW PANELS WILL USE THE SOUND
FILES AND MOST OF THE GAUGES FROM THE SKYBUS PACKAGE. THESE FILES REPLACE
ALL OTHER PREVIOUS D6SKYBUS FILES AND UPDATES

NOTAM:  ALL PANEL AND SOUND FILES ARE STORED IN THE FS200? \ AIRCRAFT \ FSFSCONV FOLDER

Thanks, people. Ozzy, no there isn't a panel in the Panel but I'll try to remember the tip for next time. Bill, I agree Premair's stuff is very nice. I hadn't seen that particular item in their site, which only means I wasn't paying attention. So I looked for an fsfsconv. folder in my fs9 and sure enough there it was, with the panel files as promised. I still haven't figured out why the "panel.cfg=alias dhc6xxx" in the orig. d/l did not go there but I just copied all the files to the a/c and all is well.  Now all I have to do is understand just what fsfsconv. does so if anyone can direct me to the appropriate location I'll be grateful (again!!) Also maybe I'll continue to  follow Hagar's install rules!

Good to hear you're making progress

all aliasing does is allows us to have (any) one panel installed in only ONE location and use it in as many planes as we want. here's a sample of one of my panel.cfg files:

[fltsim]
alias=fsfsconv\dhc6_310
;alias=BEECH_KING_AIR_350\panel
;alias=fsfsconv\dhc6GNQY
;alias=fsfsconv\dhc6_300
;alias=fsfsconv\dhc6_mdm
;alias=fsfsconv\dhc6_mdn
;alias=fsfsconv\dhc6_mdz

simicolons or slashes // rem the lines
the only panel accessed (above) is the one starting with alias=
(the top one in this instance)

hope this helps
