Ultimate b747 default repaint

Okay, this is lengthy, stick with me.  I downloaded the ultimate boeing 747 repaints (a 4-pack) off of avsim.  I got everything up and running great, all the planes work, and they overwrite the default planes(the modules and sounds that came with the new repaint were AWESOME).  I only had two problems.  One was that I couldn't get ATC to say British airways, even using editvoicepack.  But I didn't really care, that didn't bother me that much.  What DID bother me was the passenger Lufthansas parked at the cargo ramps (and YES I know how to fix this).  I wanted global freightways back.  So, I said to myself, I'm going to reimport my old default 747s, mess with the file names and the .cfg to get them back in, and that will solve everything.  Heh.

To make a long story short, the two sets of default planes cannot coexist, at least not the way I'm doing it.  I changed the texture names and the aircraft.cfg so that everything should work, and yes I changed the paint #, flight.X, texture.x, all of that to the proper numbers.  So, now the names show up, but not the proper skins.  Bear with me I'm going to explain a little bit further in a sec, but for example, if the first planes I had in there, my texture, texture.1, etc. would be the only SKINS available.  Not the only liveries.  In the drop down menu, there was Lufthansa, Northwest, British Airways, Air Canada, Landmark, Global freightways, soar, and world travel.  BUT the only aircraft colors were the dled ones, so like when I clicked on landmark I would get the BA plane, soar, the Air Canada plane, etc. (no particular pattern).  HOWEVER, when I deleted my whole b747 folder and reimported my backed up default one, I copied the ultimate pack in as texture.4 and up, same woth the .cfg.  Now, all the liveries are there, but the skins are the default ones.

I'm thinking it may have something to do with the fact that the dled ones have different engine sounds, 4 new modules, and possibly a different base model (is that the "Texture" folder?) This is really weird.  I'm not even sure if anyone is going to understand this, but any ideas?

 The only thing I can help with is the British Airways callsign.  The use Speed Bird as their callsign, try that.

Yup, I tried to look that up in editvoicepack and interestingly enough it's not there...

Hmmm... Speed Bird works fine for me, corrupted voicepack file maybe?

wow, long post; long question to get ATC to call any of the default names just select them from the FS9 ATC Callsign menu, or:

i still do it the old-fashioned way works every time on any aircraft
aircraft.cfg
texture=WWA
kb_checklists=ATR_check
kb_reference=ATR 72-500_ref
atc_id=N1234W
atc_airline= // WestWind (leave this blank or remmed)

[General]
atc_type=Westwind // AT72 (make this Westwind)
atc_model=at72
editable=0

The above will call 'Westwind'

as far as the configs go, you seem to have a good understanding there. i just copy and paste and then edit the entries i want to change:

[fltsim.0] must be numbered in sequence
title=Boeing 747-400 (this must be different for each aircraft)
sim=Boeing747-400
model=
panel=
sound=
texture=ABC (texture.ABC folder)
kb_checklists=Boeing747-400_check
kb_reference=Boeing747-400_ref
atc_id=N747 your ident
atc_airline=Global Freightways
atc_flight_number=1123 anything will do
atc_heavy=1
atc_parking_types=CARGO (AF2 parking codes)
ui_manufacturer=Boeing
ui_type="747-400"
ui_variation="Global Freightways"
description="More than 30 years ago, the 747 made its first trip from New York to London.  Since then, it's become the standard by which other large passenger jets are judged. Its size, range, speed and capacity were then, and are now, the best in its class."
TBAirCraftUId=10

That's it; it should work
if some planes don't show in FS9 list it's usually because the numbering {fltsim.X} is not sequenced or
the title=aircraft name is being used elsewhere by another aircraft (in this or another folder)

Lots of luck

THANK YOU WJI YOU DID IT.  Made me realize my stupidity.  I did not change the thing after "texture=" in the aircraft.cfg, this explains why the skins were mixed up. YES!  As for the speedbird thing, I'll figure it out eventually.  But I doubt it's a corrupted file b/c I just dled it like yesterday. But I'll check.  Thanks guys, you have yet to fail me ;D  ;D  ;D
