I notice that this does not apply to FS 2004. Does that mean that FS9 does not suffer from performance degradation? :(

No... my guess is that the basic document is a bit older than the issues with fs2004.  I don't think that there is much question that resources in use DO affect fs2004.

Hi all

I didn't notice any FR change but suggest people just have a go. I have several background services like anti-spam, spybot, pop-up stopper, anti-virus and stuff and it all came back OK so no need to worry if you follow the instructions.

Isnt this what FSAutostart does anyway ........ and much less hassle once you've set up the profiles?

Exactly eno. I use FSAuto Start and love it. Very easy once you set up what you want shut off etc.

With XP you can set up different Profiles with fewer things starting up, can even get down to running almost  no resources. BUT!!!! Easy to screw up and then you are left with a re-install of your OS

And DON'T ask me how I know!!!!     ;)

FSAuto Start is easy and safe and works flawlessly.
