Lost 2D panel with 9.1 patch

I applied the 9.1 patch and I can no longer see the 2D instrument panels. I deleted and reinstalled FS2004 and the panels return. Applied patch again and panels disappear. The bottom half of the screen is black where the panel would normally appear. Any ideas?

About the only thing I could recommend would be to not use the patch. ;D

Sorry, but many people have had issues with the patch.  You might also try checking for drivers for your video card.

just guessing here but there was a 2D panel issue when ACOF first came out on some video cards (ATI cards I think). This might be the case with the patch. See if updating your vidcard drivers don't help.

A quick check might be to try running ACOF in Windowed mode. That was the workaround until ATI (?) came out with new drivers way back when.

I have an Nvidia card. You are correct though. The problem went away when I turned anti-alias off or went to windowed mode. Updating to the latest driver solved the issue. The MS tech support line said that several folks have had this issue after applying the patch.

In my opinion, and ya know what they say about opinions  ;D
I think the FS9 patch has created more problems than it solved  :o
Glad I didn't download it  :-/
