i was thinking that in fs200 there should be a career mode those like in real world.to increase ranks we have to get hours to become a pilot of major airline. what did you people think about this....anyone can forward this idea to microsoft because in my point of view this is a greattt idea for flight sim loversss

Not a bad idea but you can allways join a VA (virtual airline) and accomplish the same thing. A good example is Livewire Airlines. As a new pilot you can only fly the smaller airplanes you have to fly flights to work up to first officer, and so forth. As you go up in rank you are able to fly bigger aircraft and longer flights.
Maybe you should consider joining one. There are a lot of them out there. Depending on what you want each has its own rules and regulations as to what and where you can fly.
I fly Livewire because you do not have to fly out just one hub and they actually pay you virtual money that you can use to buy virtual merchandise and stocks int the airline.

I have to agree with garymbuska. VAs are the answer not building it into MSFS. First of all one person's idea of a career mode may not be what another will like. With VAs you pick the one that fits you.
Unlike some others my favorite is bush flying. I don't care that I will never earn virtual dollars (what can you do with them except buy virtual beer. I prefer the real thing thank you

One of the things I like about it, the way it is, is the lack of regulations and rules..............however, each to his own.

I agree... a "career mode" in FS makes a game out of it instead of a flight simulator. If you want something where you can move up in rank etc...etc... Join a VA ;D

I'm with Matt.
One person's idea of a dream career is another person's worse nightmare. A career mode in FS would make it a game, not a simulator
Join a VA. There's hundreds of 'em

I agree with Matt about it being an option, it might be fun, but I dont want to HAVE to do it.

Yeah I agree with what everyone has said here. I like VAs. The one I fly for is looking for pilots!

yai agree with virtual airline. but i think adding this option in fs 2006 will not make it a game.but a real world simulator......and people who cant fly with virtual airline can benefit with this great option

I think the beauty of FS is that it's not totally realistic in that respect, IMO. A total novice can fly a 747 without having to spend countless hours flying smaller planes in order to understand how the 747 works. FS, to me, is more of a flying sim than a pilot sim.

There are many VA's that I've seen that require you to have TeamSpeak, which is an application that lets you talk to other people while you're flying via a microphone. But then again, there are many VA's that just let you fly, record your flight time, and post it up on their site.
BTW: Wolfy, I was just about to ask the same thing.
