Adding CFS2 aircraft to FS 2004

Hello all
I got a odd question not sure if it's been asked earlier or not. I did a search and take up empty.

I've added a CFS2 aircraft in too FS 2004 with mixed results while the aircraft shows up and everything else.
The problem i'm having is the exterior textures show up but are all messed. Making it look, well like something out of a 8 bit game LOL

So i was wondering is this a bitmap problem and easy to fix. Maybe resaving in a different format.  Or a MDL porblem and not so easy too fix.
And lastly or am i just crazy for trying and it will never work.

FYI. the aircrafts a FDG P-61 Black Widow.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Most aircraft should be direct drag-and-drop. What aircraft are you having probs with? I will check it on mine and get back to ya...

Some of the later (FSDS2 & Gmax) CFS2 aircraft work fine in FS9 but earlier designs are incompatible for various reasons. If memory serves me right, all the FDG aircraft were created in FSDS1 & it's quite likely they will cause the "not fully compatible" warning message. If they're early multi-LOD models they will also have display problems in FS9 due to the different graphics engine.

PS. It's not unusual to have to realias Panel and/or Sound CFG files of CFS2 aircraft for them to be listed on the FS9 selection menu.

hmmmm Thanks for the info Hagar. I feared it was something like that too with the imcompatible model.

Shame P-61 is a fine hopping aircraft too and the FDG one is very nice to fly.

Yeah even in FS2002 if you zoomed out to normal zoom it will just be boxes...
