Dear Fellow Simmers
I was wondering wheither anyone might know the cause and remedy of FS9 water textures appearing as square tiles and usually of different shade of blue. I thought it might be an antialiasing problem as I always have mine switched off, but truth is I just don't know. Any advice would be most welcome.
kind regards
kevin

Sadly that's a "bug" in FS2004.
It handels the ocean textures somewhat differently than FS2002 and this is what cause the tiles.
I expect that vastly improved ocean/water textures are one thing that will be included in FS-10! :)

Thanks Joe_D,
I was hoping it might be a case of "hit switch A" or "move slider B" .Nothing is ever that simple in FS. I don't know which is worse, putting up with patchy water or contemplating the migration of dozens of Payware/Freeware addons to FS10. Assuming their even compatible in the first place!
Don't mind me.I'm just having a Sunday night night whinge
Thanks for your help Joe,
Safe flight...

I installed the Tiger Moth package from SimV. It has a water texture package with it. It seems to fix that problem at least on the "my flights" part of the package. I tried the Tonga and Fijii flights and was amazed at the difference.

Hmm, I never have this problem during the day but what does piss me off is that 4 sided thing that shows up on water at night. The four sided thing I have figured is the detail area, and all the water behind it is a different shade of black and man is it annoying. But I don't have the ocean texture problem during the daytime, it is solid. I'd know I do LAX to SSY routinely :P, plenty of water to be had there-12-13 hours worth to be exact ;D
