Postby Falcondriver16 » Mon Nov 01, 2004 6:12 pm

Hey guys,

Was wondering if you could help me with a problem?

When i addon choppers, i cant see the rotors spinning. Only with addons.

Also, sometimes i cant see the landing gears on some addon aircraft.

Please help :-/

That's probably because the model was made for FS 2002. Some 2002 models made with the old version of FSDS won't show props or rotors. Nothing you can do except hope someone makes a model of that type for ACOF.

For the landing gear and flaps you can do a modification to your Fs9.cfg file. Do a search for Fs9.cfg with the "search hidden files" option ticked. Make a copy of the .cfg first. MAKE A COPY OF THE .cfg FIRST. (Repetition intentional). Don't foget to make a copy of the .cfg.  ;D

Open the Fs9.cfg with Notepad and look for the following line.

[FrameCallNoWarn]
full=1

You will find the number set to "0". Change that to "1" like the example above. This will get your landing gear and flaps back but there's nothing you can do about props and rotors.

I have the same problem too with some helo's I've downloaded from Hover Control. It's the model's fault. The models were designed for FS2002 and the rotors won't show in 2004. It's also happened with some prop planes where the props are missing too.

Not much you can do about it until someone makes a dedicated model for 2004. Fortunately for the choppers I like to fly there are other 2004 models available but they have different skins and color schemes.

I'll have to try the solution Matt mentiones for missing structure items like landing gear and flaps.

Have you been getting an error message when you load the plane on the create a flight screen that says some of the items may not be displayed correctly? If you get this it usually means the model is not totally compatible with FS2004. It may work or it may not. there's no way to tell unless you try. If it doesn't then you can always uninstall it.

If you get this warning message click the NO option. This has the same effect as Matt's CFG tweak.

excactly ! you should never try to install previous "older version" aircraft or you may run the risk of fs9 becoming unstable> If you have lots of add ons as I do youll know that is not even potentially good!!
