I did read somewhere that Van Nuys Air Force Base, (KVNY), in Southern California is the busiest airport in North America... :o...!

...(this is for real airports)... ;)...!

Cheers all... ;D...!

Paul.

a bit of a mod...>>>

Today, in the infancy of the new millennium, KVNY remains the busiest general aviation airport in the world and the fifth-busiest airport in the United States.

In real life Heathrow is still the busiest, and in some ways the least well equipped (try the coffee, you'll see what I mean!), and normally Friday morning and all through the day is bad.

KJFK (Kennedy) and KSFO (San Francisco) are the busiest airports I've ever seen in FS.  ;D

Van Nuys Airport isn't an airforce base and it isn't even that big of an airport, only 2 runways so I highly doubt its the bussiest

You are right about it not being an AFB, but it is the busiest or one of the busiest General Aviation airport in the world.

You won't find any traffic on it in FS9, but Nellis AFB in Las Vegas, Nv, during one of the red flag exercises is the busiest military airport in the world.

O'hare intl might still reign as the busiest in the US.  Hard to say though, I find more delays in Pheonix Sky Harbor than anywhere else.... ;D

According to the good people at the Guiness Book of Records, the Busiest airport is Atlanta's Hartsfield International. The record number was recorded in 2000.

Busiest Airport
Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport is the world's busiest in terms of sheer passenger numbers, with 80,162,407 people passing through in 2000, the latest year for which statistics are available. This represents a 2.7% increase over 1999.

Heathrow is the busiest airport for number of take offs and landings
Atlanta hartsfield jackson is the busiest(just) for passengers.
O'hare is the busiest in the US for take off and landings.
Since this is flight sim passenger numbers dont matter. So go from that.

I wanted to say Phoenix in the early morning. I took off from there at 0435 and sat behind about five other craft on the taxiway. Also the sky was full of moving lights. I wasn't sure if I should give my two cents until I saw that Phoenix is, indeed, ranked fifth in the world. I guess the Sim got it right. Try it in the morning between 4am and 9am.

Also, does anyone experience having to fly in pattern due to heavy traffic? I have my AI on 100% and very, very rarely have to "go around."
