Since there is no "FS Sim Stories" board......

If anybody else has any good stories, go ahead and post them here.

Note: I use real times/real weather when I fly.

So there I was, on the IFR return trip to PANC (Stevens Anchorage International) from ENA (Kenai Municipal)flying my Frontier Flying Service FSD Navajo Panther. It was 12:52 dark, temperature just dropped to -2C, fog top 600Ft, scattered 1000ft clouds. I just aquired the localizer on 6R, at 1,600. The winds had kicked up a bit to about 20Kts, lightly tossing my twin around, but it wasn't bad, I knew the Navajo was good in this weather, I'd done it many times before. About 3 miles out I heard something about 'Landmark 2543... 1600 til established on the localizer" but I didn't catch it all, I was busy flying my plane. I was on the centerline, about one mile out, and

I don't think it was bad directions, I think MS dropped the ball on considering flight speeds and seperation for ATC. Had I been flying fast enough, I would got on the runway, and THEN ATC would have told him to go around.

I can fly to MANY places in Alaska without nav aids, as long as I can see a couple reference points. I was doing a 'Commuter Flight' part 135 with an IFR clearence, plus I had fog and pitch black night to contend with. I've done the Kenai-Anchorage, Anchorage-Kenai run probably 200 times since 2000 Pro. I grew up flying on Chieftains doing this route from ages 4 to 16, and I believe it is what made me love aviation as I do.

Currently, I only have my Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics Certificate, and most likely I will enter the UAA Aviation program again to get my Private Pilot, and on up to commercial rating. I live for airplanes and flying.
