Gauge issues (.gau files error)

Guys,

I have a problem with loading some aircraft I've installed recently... The A318 by Aerodesigns and a multi-pack of Embraer ERJs that I got from avsim.com.

When I try to load the planes in the "Create a Flight" screen, I'm informed of an error with loading the gauge files, such as a318.gau. I don't have the exact error text now but can post it later if anyone needs it..

Can somebody help me out? I would really like to fly the A318 with the virtual cockpit, it looks awesome. If anyone has that A318 installed (it's in United livery) and you had a similar problem or you have the virtual cockpit installed, please help.

Thanks!

Chris

Give me a link to the aircraft and I'll download it to see if I can work out the issue.

Wow, thanks - that's really nice of you. Here is the error message I receive, and Flight SIm pretty much freezes after this, I have to CTRL-ALT-DEL my way out :(

And here is the link to the page where the plane is located. It is the Aerodesigns A318 in gray and blue United colors about halfway down:

The embraer jets give me pretty much the same message, leading me to believe that if I can fix one I can easily solve the other.

Thanks so much Ender!

Do you have FSUIPC installed and the gauge registered?

Take a look here http://emarciano.flightsimmer.com/

That is your most likely explanation.  If you don't have FSUIPC, you're gonna have to buy it to use that panel.  If you don't wanna dish out the bucks, you could always search around for a panel that doesn't require it.

Chris,

Pete Dawson provides a free registration key for the A320.gau which you can find here:

http://forums.simflight.com/viewtopic.php?t=10812

Of course first you have to install the FSUIPC.dll package into your modules directory. Entering the key is a part of the menu options.

Cheers,

Gus

Also, Eric Marciano has an update for that gauge. The URL for that was posted above.

I already installed FSUIPC and registered the file in the menu.. I also get these messages when starting up Flightsim, since I installed the A318.. I don't know if it's the same problem:

After that one, I get the same box but it says "gps_export.dll" has errored out. I have to hit "no" to contune, otherwise Flightsim crashes..

:( Maybe I should just reinstall the game and everything else, or is there a way to unravel this mess? I appreciate the help.

Your FSSound error is simple to solve.

Find your FS9 cfg and add at the bottom the following lines.

[OldModules]
fssound.dll=1

You will also need to install the fssound.dll module into your modules folder.  You can download it from the library.
