Anyone know if it's possible to add a nightvision type of mod to 2004? Has anyone tried this before?

As far as I know, aircraft travel too fast to be able to use night vision. I've heard that Apache pilots crash when they try it.
If anyone knows different, please correct me.

Pilots do use NVGs in the military...they're experimenting with a new variety, actually. The main issue isn't speed, but the ambient light. With NVGs, ambient light is blinding.

They have done test flights with NVG's in the F-16 and possibly F-117 i belive and they have been quite successful.

Lots of real military aircrew do lots of real low level flying at night - many using a combination of FLIR (forward looking infra red) and NVG (night vision goggles).
Been doing for many years now in both fixed wing and helicopters.

I know helo pilots in the military use nvg, and I've seen infra red cameras in a B-52 cockpit, although I'm not sure if it had night vision or not. It might have, but can't remember for sure

We used to use NVG's in the blackhalks, but now there all getting upgrades like FLIR and color terrain following radar, they also have NV and IR turrets on the nose

I work on F-16 avionics systems for a living. I can tell you from experience that F-16's, A-10's, and F-15's use night vision goggles, not just in testing, but in combat as well. they have special exterior lighting that uses a covert setting, visible only with NVG's, and special interior lighting as well, that's green in color, as not to blind the pilot. Just some gee-whiz info I figured some of you fighter buffs might appreciate.
