I've looked as long as I could for the answer to my question but I can't find it on the forum, But I KNOW it's on here. So if you guys could just point me to that thread or answer it here, that would be a lot of help
My question is:
Is there a way to increase the time limit for AI traffic to NOT disappear in a queue line? I think the default is 5 minutes, but I would like to increase that. Would anyone know the file I should look at?

Welcome to the forum Rodogg.... So many new faces.

I don't know the answer to your question, because I am not understanding what you are looking for. When you are talking about the queue line are you talking about when they are waiting for take off? I have never seen aircraft disappear while waiting for take off. Besides, I don't like to wait for a long period of time before I get to go flying...

Would you mind elaborating on your question? Thanks....

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. When you're waiting to take off from a major airport (LAX, KORD, KJKF, etc) during the day, there's a bit more traffic than usual.
I notice that when I'm waiting to get on the runway, some of the planes (AI) ahead of me would disappear.
I'm almost certain that I read here that they have a
5-minute timelimit when waiting for taking off. I was wondering if there is a way to extend that timelimit.

I have never had planes in the queue disappear. I was in the longest queue I've ever been in (six planes ahead of me) at McCarron just this week. I'm patient, I waited my turn. No planes disappeared and the queue was much longer than five minutes.
The only times that planes disappear is if I change the percentage of traffic setting. I would re-install FS9 and see if that helps.

Man what are you saying. i have been plying fs2004 since the date of release. in this period traffic hd never dissappear

. but if you save your game and then restart fs2004 then traffic disapears. i think there is a technical problem in your game.

Heya all-
Just to explain a little about the "disappearing AI Aircraft"...
The MS FS 2004 (according to the SDK) takes a look at the AI aircraft's flightplan destination as it sits on the taxiway ready to depart from the airport before the AI plane taxis onto the runway.

Not certain, but could it also be the option for AI aircraft in which they have to arrive at their destination airport at a fixed time. I think there are 2 options.
1. for them to arrive at a fixed time
2. for them to arrive depending on their speed, wind speed and direction etc.
They can be changed but I think if you have option no.1, the aircraft disappear in order to be at their destination at the allocated time in the simulator.
Also, welcome to the world of SimV.

Aargggh! I can't believe that I forgot to include that in my post!
Grimmy is absolutely 100% correct. Another way to keep AI Aircraft from "disappearing" is to specify an arrival time in the flightplans.txt file. The only drawback to this is that you can "bump" up the arrival time by 5 or 10 minutes and your AI Aircraft may still "disappear" because (especially at very busy airports like KDFW, KJFK, EGLL, KLAX, &etc.) there aren't enough parking spots to accomodate all of the AI Traffic. If this happens then you'll still have to install a new improved AFCAD.
