Corsair takeoff swing!

Anyone have a fix for the severe takeoff swing of the French Corsair F4U-7 (FS9)? I can't seem to get enough rudder authority to counter the torque/p-factor of this otherwise great aircraft. Tried locking tailwheel, max rudder trim, to no avail. I could change realism settings but thats not very sporting, is it? Thanks all for your comments.

Just increase the throttle gradually, and counter with rudder gradually.
Don't open up on full throttle ;)

I usually don't go more than 2/3 throttle...

Someone had an interesting experience with one on a cross-country trip

A severe swing was commonplace on the Corsair.  It comes from putting such a huge engine on a relatively small airframe.  The F2G actually had a miniature rudder that offset itself something like 12 degrees to counter the torque.  Do as Mark says and start off slowly, and go easy on the throttle a bit and you should be ok.  :)

Bazza have you been forgetting to take your medication? Or is there some secret Kiwi conspiracy to make runways circular in your neck of the woods to try and prevent me visiting? ;D

I have just installed this beautiful bird and I have yet to experiance the "swing", of course I make it a practice to lock the tail wheel before take off in all my tail draggers.
But I tried a few times with it unlocked, and starting my roll with full throttle and no problem she grabs concrete and away we go! Sweet piece of freeware, but slight a hit on frame rates .
I just can't figure out why it is a 61MB aircraft.
I have others with four or more variants and multiple paints and the file is no where near that size.
Is there some extras that I'm overlooking?

Thanks everyone. Of course I have since found mention of this in the documentation "30inches of M.P. max  and 12 deg. rudder trim" Locked tailwheel isn't mentioned, oddly enough; although I do that whenever possible. I can't imagine how P.I. manages a full throttle takeoff with no swing. I guess I'll practise lots until I get it right.

Auto Rudder should stop the swing. Thats probably how Fret does it.

I never thought to look there ;D
It shouldn't be set for auto-rudder but I'm going to check and see now, because I was doing my best to get that sucker too dance for me! ;D ;D

I have found that using 1/2 to 3/4 flaps and abt 3/4 throttle will left you off nicely, full throttle and flaps will cause the tail to rise to quickly and chop the runway with the prop.

I looked at my settings and no auto-rudder isn't on!
I don't know how it is I can apply full throttle and it doesn't swing?
Is it possible that I have downloaded one with a update in it?
I just got it three days ago after seeing screenies of it.

What Realism settings are you using? If the FD is at all realistic that huge prop at full power would produce a considerable amount of torque. I don't have this Corsair so can't try it myself.

OK folks - at the risk of wearing this subject threadbare, here's what I just tried out. In FS9, all realism settings @ 50 %, incl. P-factor and torque. Autorudder off. Control sensitivities and null factors in the middle. In the F4U-7, rudder trim 7deg. right, aileron trim 2 deg. right, pitch trim 2 deg. up, throttle 30" MP, flaps 20, all per the authors' documentation. I can barely keep it on the asphalt of my 6000 x 150 home strip (CYYF in beautiful BC) and I need the best part of the mile to get unstuck unless power is added, which of course gets even more interesting. I'm beginning to think it's just made that way as a challenge (fair enough!!) but I wonder if anyone gets the same behavior with those settings.

Ok I had my realism settings at 50% and auto-rudder off with still no swing.
I uninstalled the aircraft re-installed and that puppy chases it's tail like there is no end!!!!!
I don't know if I did a good thing or not ;D Sort of liked it the way it was before! ;D
