aircraft download

Postby rjvan » Sat Oct 02, 2004 7:20 pm

I am confused.

According to the "help installing an aircraft" the instructions there says there is supposed to be 4 folders.  I am supposed to make a folder with the airplane name (e.g. A10 Thunderbolt).  Then after unzipping the downloaded file I am supposed to find the 4 folders called "model" "panel" "sound" and "texture".  These 4 folders are supposed to be moved to the airplane folder I created.

My problem seems to be when I download a plane today all the files are all in one place.  There does not seem to be the 4 folders and I do not know which files should go into which folder.

I would appreciate any help in this area.

Does this happen with every plane you download or is it a specific plane?

If it happens for every plane it could be the way your unzip utility is set up. Look for an option that that says something like "maintain directory structure", it varies depending on what utility you are using.

If it is just one plane it's possible the creator has his zip utility set wrong. You would have to manually re-create the folder structure...it's tedious, but not too hard.

WOW.

It worked.  I tried a different un-zip program and there were the folders just like they were supposed to be.

I sure am glad there are people like you who are willing to help confused people like me.

Thank you
