Well, for some reason, something I installed has my navigation lights blinking like the heartbeat of crack addict. Its affecting mnot only the aircraft I fly but also the AI aircraft.

Anyone able to provide me with the correct settings for nav lights?

Here is the (Lights) section from my 747:

//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0 = 3, -150.30, -102.56,   3.22, fx_navredh ,
light.1 = 3, -150.30,  102.56,   3.22, fx_navgreh ,
light.2 = 3, -223.85,    0.00,   8.85, fx_navwhih ,
light.3 = 2, -150.30, -102.56,   3.22, fx_strobeh ,
light.4 = 2, -150.30,  102.56,   3.22, fx_strobeh ,
light.5 = 2, -228.97,    0.00,  44.62, fx_strobeh ,
light.6 = 1,  -45.05,    0.00,  14.65, fx_beaconh ,
light.7 = 1,  -80.22,    0.00, -12.05, fx_beaconb ,
light.8 = 4,  -16.24,    0.00,   9.19, fx_vclighth,

I have doubts whether this will help because aircraft.cfg are for particular aircraft.  These lights would stick out 100 feet past the wings of a Cessna.

I think it's more likely that you messed up something in the effects files.

Extract the original effects from the cd.  Look at the dates of the files to make a guess as to which ones have been corrupted.

Steve - you mean you haven't kept a reserve backup of ALL of your original fs9 files (effects, gauges, scenery, texture etc)  ???

Anyway...

fx_navredh, fx_navgreh , and fx_navwhih (red, green and white nav lights  ::) ) should all be fixed. If they are flashing you need to restore the originals.

fx_strobeh (high intensity white strobe) should flash strongly. The default file also flashes at regular intervals but there are replacement files that are irregular.

fx_beaconh (high intensity red beacon) and fx_beaconb (low intensity) both also flash but in a different way to strobes. They are slower for a start and if looked at closely, work like a real rotating beacon with an intensity that starts, builds to a peak and declines again, all in a very short space of time.

fx_vclighth is the fixed VC and flight deck light that illuminates the pilot and flight deck at night

You can see the position of each light from the cfg file Lights section (numbers are type of light, followed by its longitudinal, lateral and vertical distance from the aircraft datum) so it shouldn't take longer than about 5 seconds to see where the problem is  ;)

Thats the thing. I keep backups but I think this was something that was an autoinstaller, but not sure which. I went crazy with downloads yesterday since I have been without a graphics card for a few days. When I went into the sim for the first timeI noticed the blinking was probably four+ times as fast.

Have you installed the Corsair?
I have had this problem since installing it, unsure if it is related but my finger points that direction because this problem didn't exsits before then  ::)
Not too mention the word "auto-installer" :-/
