AI aircraft too fast?

Postby digant » Wed Sep 22, 2004 10:36 pm

Hello friends,

I like to fly with all the AI traffic in place, especially the Project AI stuff.  But when I'm on final, it seems the AI traffic overtakes me and gets the clearance.

I usually fly 737 and come in at about 170kts until I get closer (and then drop to 147kts for the landing).  But doing so, AI traffic seems to fly right past me.

Am I going too slow or is the AI coming in fast?

As has been stated several times before. when it comes to spacing ATC does not know the meaning of the word.
You are not doing anything wrong. I make a habit of useing spot view to look around for any close aircraft before I get to close I will use slew mode than increase the rate to 2x or 4x so any planes in the area land ahead of me. It can scare the Sugar Honey Ice Tea out of you when you are on final in the cesna and a 747 flys over you. ;D
I know it is not verry realsitc but than niether is the 747 landing ahead of you when it has been told that it should be second to land. 8)
