MS Announces FS2004 Update at Avsim Conference

Posted: Saturday, September 18, 2004 - 22:16
We are extremely excited to report that Microsoft just announced the upcoming FS2004 Update during their presentation at the AVSIM 2004 Conference. It is expected to be available at the end of September or early in October, as some fixes are still being wrapped up, but in the meantime, let us report on some of the features it brings, like all of the 160 missing bridges, new autogen objects for KJFK, enhanced frame rates and product stability as well as increased terrain data support from 76 meter to 19 meter elevation data. Check out our 2004 conference postings forum for some pictures of the announcement presentation here. Remember, you heard this first on AVSIM.

Oh boy...Now I probably have to figure out which bridges I have to get rid of (I added on quite a few...)

Well, I guess we have to take the good with the bad...:(

This is much anticipated but totally unexpected news!

Hopefully it actually DOES what it purports to do.  I need a big framerate fix.

I hope that autogen "bug" is addressed with this patch.  That would be a fair frame rate boost right there for those who refuse to do the current work-around "fix".

Any idea about a release date? Besides the end or beginning of a month?

Well, since I have extensively modded my copy of FS9, I will have to hear a compelling arguement to apply the patch...

I don't really feel like starting over... :P

I don`t think that site has beeen updated since the release of FS9! ;)

Anyway, the news of the upcoming  patch seems to be accurate.

It will be interesting to see the reaction to the patch once it is released.  I don't think I want to be the test dummy for this one.  Ofcourse the frame increase and stuff would be nice, but I have so much extras loaded that I don't want to see it get wiped out. ;D

I really do hope it is all that they say it will be and more. ;D
