Alter Jetways and Airport vehicle positions!

Postby A/SGT.Mav316 » Wed Sep 08, 2004 10:48 pm

Hi SimV,

I recently downloaded this freeware that adjusts the jetways and position of airport vehicles at Charles De Gualle for specific types of aircrafts. This was cool and I wanted to know if anyone knew how they did this. The Nav1 frequency set to a certain channel moves the jetway up and down, as well as moves in and out the airport vehicles (fuel truck, catering truck, luggage loader, and emergency exit steps).

Does anyone know what # in the frequency alters the position of these objects? I experimented and found that the alterations were premade and set to certain objects on a certain frequency. I couldn't figure out how to move just one object into place perfectly.

Can anyone help me (as well as anyoneelse intersted) in adjusting the Jetways to fit my particular addons ?  ;D

The file that came with the scenery just had a self install program  :-/ no readme file. The doc which was a seperate download just explained how to change the position of the vehicles and jetway with the nav1 radio channel. It didn't give an explanation on how the person did this.

Somehow I can see what was done, is he found a way to move the vehicles to position perfectly for some aircrafts and used a frequency channel of the Nav1 radio to save the configuration. It is noticed that if you don't enter the correct specified Nav1 channel all the vehicles will not be in their proper place for the aircraft you are using.

I am going to search the database of SimV and other websites FS2004 Utilities library to see if someone came up with a tool that lets you do this. In the mean time I will see if I can contact the person from the doc file to get some infor on how he/she did this.

Ok an update,

For those of you that are taking the time to read this but have no clue how to do this (like me  ::))

I got a series of replies from the designer and according to him, all he did was find a nav1 frequency that displayed a bunch airport vehicle scenery at a particular gate. Then he altered the Airport scenery BGL file by changing the coordinates associated with each airport vehicle to place them in perfect position next to the plane at the gate.

I haven't the faintest clue what this means! But I do know where to locate an associated bgl file now all I have to do is find the airport and find the gate associated with it! This is going to take sometime to figure out! But I will update as I figure this one out and pass it on!

This is gonna be cool  ;D!
