trouble opening cfg. files

Postby flightmedic » Wed Sep 15, 2004 11:22 am

I have downloaded a few real crash add ons, exhaust for my c-130, and others. They tell me to copy and paste to the aircraft config file for that aircraft. Now I am not very PC literate when it comes to writing files and ect. When I go into my aircraft (specific plane) folder, I fing a cfg.file but it says windows can not open this file. ???????? ??? ???

How in the world do I get this to work?
Any takers................. :(

Choose the program from a list and open it with Notepad...

OK,assuming you have WIN XP you can open and modify aircraft and panel CFG files by configuring a program from windows to open it.
it very simple and worked for me...(maybe there are other ways to do it)
right click on the CFG file will open a new window which will ask you "open with..." in which you have to choose "notepad". after you open the CFG with notepad you can change the CFG file.
Tell me if it worked for you.
