Ok this is mainly for the guys that post the wonderful screenshots in the screenshot forums that feature beautiful water textures.

What textures are you all using?  There are many, MANY different ones out there and so I'd like to know who is using what! Thanks!   ;D

You just have to try them and see what you like best...

I personally like the lemoncat ones, but which is best depends on who you ask, sorry :(

Sorry, I guess what I am looking for are specific file names.  There are SOOOOOOOOO many different textures, and a million different versions of each one.

Sorry to be such a pain in the a$$, but what is the filename for these "Lemoncat" textures?  I really cannot find much under "Lemoncat" anywhere.

You'll find Enhanced Water Textures (Lemoncats) here at SimV. Bottom of this page http://www.simviation.com/fs2004scenery11.htm

Man all he wants is a link! ;D

bottom of the page for the Lemoncat ones which are the Lyons ones with some "tweaking".
I like you have used many and found almost all of them to be good or a major improvement at the least. My only gripe is that the "wave" effect is a little intense especially on inland lakes.
I use the Lyons package because the water color is a little more realistic to the area I fly the most, but the Lemoncat ones look great by the oceans. So yes it is difficult to decide which to use. I hope that someone works on a set that focuses more on water inland than the ocean ;)

Yeah,...... one wonders why Microsoft didn't come up with two or maybe even three "water" classes........ inland lakes/ponds,  rivers, and ocean?

Oh well.

I am using Ocean FX in combination with Vilks water.

You can find Vilk's at FSfreeware.com.
I searched around for Ocean FX, but I am unable to locate it.  I looked at Avsim and FSfreeware.  I might have got it from here, but it was so long ago that I don't remember.  Anyway, Vilks is pretty good, even on its own. ;D

I have just installed the Flight Ontario scenery and I have heard it changes the water textures...will try it and let you know what I find out.

For any Aviation Geeks here in Michigan (I'm talking to you Stormtropper) I found a motherlode of things on here including, but not limited to, the Ambassador Bridge and the Soo Locks (as well as the Ontario scenery).

Anyone with information please speak up...

Simviation:
Waterzone.zip at FS2004>Scenery>p.11

Avsim.com and FlightSim.com:
Oceanstx.zip and Oceansfx.zip.

All by Ed Truthan.  All will also work in FS2002.  All excellent.  Oceansfx.zip has 7 different 'wave forms' set at various wind speeds, works with Oceanstx and provides a nice effect.

There is also a water set on either Avsim or FlightSim by Daniel Ponce, sorry, don't recall the exact filename.  This particular tex set renders a nice blueish hue when the reflections are turned off, but the shallow water textures are lacking.

I've never found any Freeware on FS freeware.com. They always want some sort of payment.
