More and more often, I don't see the moon! Yet I do see its reflection on the water...how can I get it back?
Also is there an add-on that you would recommend for this?

Well, they are there. Sometimes I do see it, but often I don't at night (yet I do if I see it during the daytime)

Well, depending on the rotation of the earth and the position of the moon, day or night, sometimes you'll see it and sometimes you don't. Suprisingly, M$ has accurately modeled the movement and phases of the moon.

That is true, often when I look outside and then on the sim the real moon and the sim moon are really similar in size, phase and location in the sky!
But there have been times flying over water I'll notice the reflection of a full or half moon on the water but it will be no where to be found in the sky?

I've noticed this abnormality too on occasion.

In spot view I usually look for the light of it on whatever side of the plane, then pan to opposite side and pan up to find it.

I see what you mean. When to night time, lots of reflected light, no source. Too funny, or should I say unrealisticly stupid.

Maybe this occurs when the moon is entirely black (the opposite of a full moon, forget the correct term. Is it "new moon"?) The sim may not know to change the water reflection so you get the reflection of a moon without an actual, visible moon.
