Throttle Problems

Postby GunnerMan » Sat Sep 11, 2004 11:50 pm

I have Sidewinder Precision2 stick and I use its throttle to operate my aircrafts engines. With mulitple engines I seem to be able to have no problems haveing them both selected and operating at the same throttle % on takeoff and cruise. Now as I come in for an approach to destination airport for some reason if its a twin engine aircraft one engine gets deselectd and I end up on trying to decend/approach with one engine full throttle. So to make it simple how can I make it so ALL engines stay selected from startup to powerdown?  I usualy press E 1 then 2 and so on to select all engines in default aircraft but in many of my Payware aircraft such as the B200 and the Citation X it occurs more often and the E 1-2 etc command does not work?

Any Help IS Welcome,

Not intending to belittle you, but I'll never understand why people with a single throttle have this problem.

Within the FS joystick assignments page you'll find several throttles...

Engine 1 Throttle Axis
Engine 2 Throttle Axis
Engine 3 Throttle Axis
Engine 4 Throttle Axis

and further down

Throttle AXIS (Do you have your throttle assigned to this?)

Maybe your accidentally hitting the "E" key and not knowing it. Try changing the assignment for engine selection.

Other than that I'm out of ideas.

Joe

Additionally, there are gauges on the Citation X that interrupt keyboard inputs. Same thing with pushing back? Try pressing "E" and then holding "1 & 2" for about a second. I too have this problem and it's very frustrating.

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Skittles,

For the moment while my throttle quadrant is still under construction... I am flying with the single throttle control on the CH Yoke controling all 4 engines.

I was flying online last night.

Well, I have never, ever had this problem. I reassign "E" to the EXIT. Maybe that's the difference?

It very well could be I am pressing E on accedent. I do that alot as you will see if you look at some of my other posts, I will try to reasign it and see what happens. Thanks for the idea!

Hi Guys,

New to the forum but found it searching for a solution to this very problem. I was taxiing the Douglas DC-3 and needed to use a single engine to help turn. Managed to select the single but then could not return them to dual control or select engine 2 only!! The only solution was to restart the flight. Al then worked fine until after landing and needing again to use a single engine, the same thing happened again.

Is there a bug or is somthing else (ATC?) interfering with keyboard input. Other commands seemed to work fine but E 1 2 just refused to work. Had to use mouse and throttle levers in the end to taxi to stand.

Any ideas will be gratefully received!

Thanks

Jim
