When will FS10 be release in 2005?

Postby 777guy » Thu Aug 12, 2004 3:34 pm

I know we have atleast another 12 to 14 months to go before they release the FS10..

I really like the FS10, but there might be some changes and new features like:

1- Tire blow outs
2- open all of the doors
3- V of the Cabin..
4-new weather.. wind speed over 100 MPH it stops @ 99
5- Engine fires-
6 Emergency landings w/ or w/o landing gear.. that dd be cool.. and other emergencies
7- PARK @ the gate...

What else?

Tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bit of the plane falling off if overstressed, like having the flaps down doing 330knots and then see the flap and part of the wing fly off and the plane turn to that side ;D

FS is a FLIGHT SIMULATOR - not a crash simulator.

Still aimed & developed with proper PC 'FLIGHT SIMULATION' in mind.

The big simulators that need whole buildings to contain them & cost millions do not impress much on the crash area either - they just stop & start over - because the idea is to FLY not crash ..

Get Il-2 Forgotten Battles. Your flaps and gear will tear off if you go to fast with them down or you'll lose a wing is your overstress. It's a combat sim incase you haven't heard of it.

Do we think it's possible not to get into an argument over game vs simulator. Sure, opinions are welcome, but they are always the same, and it seems everyone is correct in one way or another.

Thanks People,

Joe

I wouldn't mind seeing ATC react to inflight emergencies. I'd also love to see a random function on breakdowns. Maybe something you can set to "Engine failure every X to X flights". Same with the other malfunctions. Right now it isn't that interesting since you have to specify what is going to fail and know almost exactly what and about when.

No you don't.  You set everything to fail between 0 and 600 minutes.  Unless you're taking the 777 from EWR to NRT, you're probably not gonna get one.  But maybe you will. ;)
Great edit, Bob.

On the other hand, with the launch of the 7E7, MS might just toss one of those in there for us to fly...

Another idea which always gets mentioned is a 'career', you could start by getting your private lisecense and then work your way up and try to get employed by commercial airlines.

Hey, I like that idea.

Maybe a bit of role-playing would be nice...

As in you fly for fun and have to fly to earn money...

Having to pay virtual dollars for new planes and for virtual maintenance may be cool too...(or not)...

Here is where a distinction must be made between a game and a simulator.  FS is a simulator.  The goal is to learn a subject that is based in reality and the reward is the achievment of that goal.  A game is something that requires you to solve a puzzle before you move on to a subsequent stage.  What you are describing would move MS from the simulator to a game setting.  Right now, you set your own goals.  You decide your own level of commitment and pace.  For this sim to require you to achieve a cerain level before moving on, it would lessen it.

I hope this makes sense, I'm not sure how well I've explained it...
