I have noticed it as well when I go to spot view...even when my plane is standing still...

This is because the surface hasn't been flattened correctly when the airport was designed. It happens surprisingly enough with default airports more than addons because designers can take the time to thoroughyly test their designs before releasing them.

You can try applying a flatten switch to the area affected or use a program like Airport or FSSC to make and apply a separate flattened area but be prepared to lose autogen in the area affected if you do.

Would that flattening feature matter even when the plane is not moving?  Whenever I am taxing the 747, and switch to Spot View... it starts bouncing, and sometimes even flips over and crashes...

When I was tinkering with building aircraft I found that if I didn't get the contact points quite right, my aircraft would bounce it's way right off the runway.

However, today I was taxiing a 747 onto the runway at KSEA and apparently found a pothole. Without warning, my nose gear collapsed and "crash"!

They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Thats happened to me too, sometimes you can be parked at the gate and you switch to spot view and for no reason, the plane starts bouncing and the gear collapses, pretty annoying ::)

I get that on the rare occasion as well. What are the proper settings in the contact points section to eliminate the bounce? I realize every plane is different, but is there a visual cue to get close -- and then do some minor tweaking?

I have found when the bounce happens, if I move the camera angle around in spot view it will stop. Move it so you are at ground level and that will normally correct the issue

I don't know, but I experienced uneven portions of the runway on KBOS, slightly beyond the TDZ on 33L. I gently landed the Airbus A330, only to see my aircraft rock up and down as I crossed the RWY 09/27 intersection.

I'm not sure, but somehow I think Ultimate Traffic plays a part in this since it modifies the airport files. Unfortuneately I don't have the knowledge to fix that :(

Sounds like the typical roads here in St Louis. I swear they are paved by dropping boulders on them. More bumps and potholes than you can imagine. Matter of fact we were voted as having the 3rd worst roads in the country as a state (Missouri). I would hate to see what the #2 and #1 states for the worst roads are like.

I have noticed the bouncing sometimes occurs when I am in tower view and then change to spot view.  If the camera is as low as it will go, bouncing sometimes occurs.  It is not very often and not all the time though.  Just another little thing with FS. ;D

Boy, I hope this doesn't happen in real life.  Every time you look at a plane from the outside it starts bouncing until the gear collapses.   :o :D

Haha, yeah, they have to start building them different.
