Sr-71 file problems. REQ: help..

Greetings fellow sim-pilots.

I am running into a problem with the SR-71 aircraft that I downloaded from http://www.simviation.com/fs2004military13.htm here.  For some reason, not all of the aircraft is visible, the landing gear from tower or chase view doesnt show, and the aircraft shows the OVERSPEED indicator at 475kts and becomes overstressed at 525kts, also for some reason, above mach 1.1 the roll characteristics actually reverse.  I have spent the greater part of the day searching for an update, but results have been less than desireable.  If you know where I can obtain the config files for an operational SR-71 I would appreciate the help.  Please bear in mind that I have absolutely 0 experience with altering .cgf's so I have not attempted going that route.  Thank you for any assistance you might lend.

Inkil.

I don't have the SR71 but had similar problems with another aircraft.
It would stall right after taking off, I was definately at speed but everytime it would just die.
What it was, it was installed with flaps down. Meaning everytime I would take off I would be at full flaps. I didn't find this out until after many attempts to fly the bird and was getting ready to delete it. a close up look at the back of the plane sitting on the ramps showed me why. Some planes don't fly well with flaps down on take off :) and there was no way to retract them either, so I don't know if I screwed up something on install or if it was a bad file?
So you might want to look there???
It would explain the overstressing too.
But then again this might not be your problem just something to check :)

to fix the landing gear problem on this or any other aircraft that might be missing them, go to your

"C:\Documents and Settings\xxYournamexx\Application Data\Microsoft\FS9" folder in Windows XP and find the file

FS9.cfg make a backup of it first then open it and look for the section

"[FrameCallNoWarn]"

scroll down to the SR-71 or whatever other AC is missing landing gear and change the

"Lockheed SR-71A=0"
into
"Lockheed SR-71A=1"

about the overspeed, to acheive a higher speed, you have to climb to a higher altitude where the air is less dense and sound is much slower, but near the ground it is impossible to go that fast.

and everything else works fine with my SR-71 so im not shure about the roll characteristics

okay.. thanks for the tip on the fs9.cfg adjustments...
since I am not that familiar with anything that is in there, is there a way to tighten up the controls at high speed within the fs9 file, or the individual aircraft files?

with the sr-71, I noticed that the faster you go, the more twitchy the joystick becomes. on more than once occasion at fl700, and cruising at 2.0 Mach, a light sneeze or pull on the joystick will cause the simulator to overstress the craft and end the flight.  Any ideas there?

Thanks

Speaking of autopilot, any suggestions on how to make the ap that the sr-71 uses actually work.  maybe it is something simple, like I am a total newb, but the ap really doesnt seem to work as intented. the only thing I can get the panel to do is hold altitude... it wont hold course or speed.

Also one of the twitchy's I noticed, is I am really unable to maintain straight level flight.  I know that this is a result of altitude and speed, but flight geometry suggests that the sr-71 is pretty stable even at mach 2+, but then I might be talking out my butt. and after all this is only a simulator....
