1. How do i pushback from a gate? When I press shift + P nothing happens and when I move the throttle the plane goes forward.

2. When I end a flight or decide to create a new flight flight plan in midflight, the new plane I use starts out at the same speed andaltitude so if I am at a gate the plane starts to take off. What can i do?

How I do the pushback is to press and hold down the Shift key and then the P key.  I hold down both keys simultaneously for about 2 seconds then release both keys.  Works like a charm every time for me.  If you are knowledgeable in installing Add-Ons, you may wish to consider placing an additional panel like I have for pushback using the Groundhandling Gauges for FS2002 / FS2004 aircraft By Rob Barendregt available here (you may need to create a username/password to login):

This Add-On allows you to control pushback and taxiing with the click of a mouse.  Very useful.

When I wish to start a new flight in FS 2004 I will press the Alt key and click on Flight in the Main FS 2004 Menu.  I then can click End Flight.  When the small window appears I can then click on the End Flight button.  This will take me to the FS 2004 Setup Screen.

Essentially this will reset the FS 2004 program back to scratch.

I have this groundhandling gauge setup on my aircraft so that it will control the taxi speed.  If the aircraft goes over the speed that you have set not only will the gauge automatically "throttle down" but it will also "tap the brakes" so to slow your aircraft down to the desired taxi speed.  The gauge has to be configured to do this.  The ground brakes are not setup to do this by default.  The gauge comes with complete instructions, however, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.  I will be happy to help out.

I downloaded the files for the pushback gauge. I'm not good at editing files. Can you explain to me how to install the gauge. Thanks a lot.
