Blank A340 displays but all else works?

Greetings.  I have been using FS2004 since I got it last December.  (My wife is amused that I spend so much time flying my Lear 45 (Singapore Airlines) and Cessna.  I guess it's better than downloading porn.  :D )

I've been having trouble getting new freeware panels to work correctly on FS9.  The latest problem last night was with the A340 base kit from AVSIM.  99% of the plane works just fine, external views, flying, autopilot, etc.  The only problem is that the cockpit view includes blank display panes where there should be nice graphic displays.  Note that the 777 panel operates correctly, but it came with FS9 and maybe there is something secret I'm not doing.

Any ideas from you guys?

Sounds like you might have not extracted the gauges correctly or to the right place.  Go through the install again and check you didnt miss them!

Remeber som gauges are in zip files that u dont unzip you just place the whole zip into the gauges dir.  Read the readme through that came with the aircraft and see if u missed anything.

The new a340 doen't come with gauges i had the same trouble too "if we are taking about posky aircrafts" so you may have to download a320,or a330 i dont remberber which was it,or download a panel from posky
and take the gauges

Thanks. ALROT.  I'll do some poking around when I get home from work tonight and see what I can figure out.  I'm assuming i'm probably just missing some files from the gauges folder or they are in the wrong place.

It's strange because the A340 base kit is supposed to give you all the bits needed in one place.   :-[

When fixed, I'll update this thread with the solution.

After spending many hours last night digging around in the gauges directory and reading panel.cfg files, i think the problem is that the gauge files are not being found by FS9.
