Diffitulty loading flight

When I create a flight - or attemp to select an already created flight - and hit the "fly now" button, the "progress bar" rums up to 12 or 13 %, then the program freezes.  Ctrl-Alt-Del brings up the task manager which reads "program not responding".  Ending the program exits FS2004, and I start over.
When I re-load FS2004, a splash window comes up indicating "trouble loading -" and then a file path that seems to be the aircraft chosen for the "not responding" flight.
Can anyone suggest a solution for this problem?

Lysander,

Did this start happening right after you installed some add on of some sort?

Note the name of the aircraft that is screws up on.  If it is an add on aircraft....... go into windows explore and move the entire folder out of the flight simulator to another location and try starting it all again after a fresh boot of the machine.

If that fixes it... it's a bad aircraft...either a corrupt download or a totally incompatible one.

Let us know more.

best,

................john

Many thanks for your prompt and most helpful reply. I believe you've hit on the problem, as the aircraft in question are "add'ons" from Icarus Gold -- wonderful airplanes, but also caused some problems with FS2002 when I installed them there.
